The Body Filters

Set in futuristic dystopia where rising water levels have caused widespread devastation, The Body Filters revolves around two workers tasked with filtering drowned bodies from their community's water source. One day, a live stranger washes up on the shore. The Body Filters save them, but then they face a dilemma: whether or not to secretly help this person stay alive, or to report them to their camp, which usually ends in one outcome: death.

Inspired by our current climate crisis, The Body Filters explores a dark possible future through a blend of scripted and improvised content. Before and during the show, audience members are invited to answer curated questions about their fears about the future. These writings are used by the cast do inspire in-character improvised moments within the play.
